In Loving Memory of Emily Patricia Houska
Emily Patricia Houska, age 23, entered eternal rest on August 23, 2017. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the light she brought into the world will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Emily was adored by her parents, Dan and Michelle, who found endless pride and inspiration in her compassion and strength. She was loved beyond measure by her sisters, Katie and Sara — a bond filled with laughter, understanding, and unconditional support. Emily was a cherished granddaughter of Mary Houska and the late Donald Houska, and the late Anthony and Ada “Nona” Teuma, all of whom held her close in their hearts.
She was a treasured cousin to Ryan, Meredith, Gabrielle, Miller, Ross, Shane, Grace, Olivia, Eric, Abbie, and Anna, and a best friend to more people than could ever be counted. Emily had a rare and beautiful gift — she made everyone feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for. A natural caretaker, she carried the worries of others as if they were her own and gave love freely, without hesitation.
Emily’s heart for service extended beyond her family and friends. She was deeply committed to helping others, especially youth and families in need. Her kindness was not loud or boastful — it was steady, sincere, and rooted in genuine compassion. She lived with purpose, empathy, and an open heart.
Though we miss her more than words can express, Emily’s spirit remains with us — in quiet moments, in shared memories, and in acts of kindness inspired by her example. She continues to guide us, reminding us to love deeply, care selflessly, and always show up for one another.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.
